Criollo characteristics
The Criollo horse is small but mighty, with a compact, muscular build and incredible stamina. These horses are known for their surefootedness, making them perfect for rough terrain. They're smart, calm, and super adaptable, whether you're working cattle or going on epic rides.

History of the Criollo
The Criollo’s story starts with Spanish explorers in the 1500s. They brought Iberica horses to South America, and when some escaped, they thrived in the wild “Pampas” grasslands of Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay, and Paraguay. Centuries of survival in tough conditions turned the Criollo into one of the hardiest breeds around.

Tradition of the Criollo
Criollos are the ultimate partners for gauchos – the legendary cowboys of South America. Gauchos still to this day use these horses for herding cattle across vast plains. Their tack is as practical as it is stylish, with traditional gaucho tack such as the Recado Criollo saddle. Gaucho's tack is designed for long days in the saddle.

The Criollo in Jorvik
The Criollo comes with the special gait Pace, and its special trick is a Double Spin.
