Kind, enchanting, a "Prince Charming" in horse form, it's the Black Forest Horse! Initially bred for logging and farm work, this horse is sure-footed and up for anything.
Unfortunately, with the rise of machinery in the 20th century, the need for working horses declined, and the Black Forest Horse population dwindled.
However, their tender personality and sturdy conformation also made them desirable riding and carriage horses. So today, thanks to conservation efforts, the breed is increasing in numbers!
Nowadays, you may spot them clearing roadblocks with the rangers, strolling along hacking trails, or performing in arenas across Jorvik.
