Mac 64-bit Changes

Hey, StarFam! As you may already be aware, Apple is implementing a change in their next operating system update (10.15) that requires all programs to be 64-bit compatible rather than 32-bit. This means that Star Stable is being updated so that you can keep playing on your Mac!

The transition to 64-bit technology by Apple means that programs can access more memory and enables your system to perform faster. Since Apple has been using 64-bit hardware and software for quite some time, most of their newer systems will have no issues. In fact, many programs that you use may have already made the switch from 32- to 64-bit versions.

As this is a mandatory change, unfortunately, if your system does not support 64-bit applications you will no longer be able to play Star Stable after these changes. This is a very small amount of computers, however, as Apple began supporting 64-bit technology in 2008.

This change will happen automatically in the coming weeks. If you have any questions or encounter any issues, please feel free to reach out via our contact form here.

Thanks so much, everyone!
