A look into the work behind Star Stable!

Hey guys! Today we have something very special to share with you - our News team managed to get hold of Creative Director / Game Director Marcus Thorell Björkäng to ask him a bit about the game and what’s coming soon!

Hi Marcus! Would you tell us a bit about everything that’s been going on this far during 2017?
We’ve been working very hard on improvements this year. Especially for our new players, who have been affected by this the most, as we have worked hard to make the beginning of the game even more welcoming to get new players into the swing of things. When working with this we also have done some changes which will affect our high level players in the long run, and the work we’ve done this far has been a big help in preparations for new, cool features we’d like to add further on. To prepare for this we’ve also opened a lot of new servers and we’ve worked a lot on stability and bug fixes to make the game run as smoothly as possible. It’s been a lot of detail work which has taken time, but this has made us very confident that we’ll be able evolve the game just as we would like to going forth. It might sound a bit boring, but it’s very important to have the basics in place to be able to do all the fun stuff!

Fun stuff? Like what?
One of the most important aspects of Star Stable Online is our epic Main Story, and soon it’s time to jump right into it again!

New Main Story Quests! Wow, we can’t wait! What can you tell us about them?
I don’t want to ruin all the fun you’ll have when trying them out, and we’ve already given you a few teasers… but I can tell you that something very, very special will be revealed in regards to a friend of yours. We’re very excited to release these quests and I dare say that nothing will quite be the same when you have played them!

Could you tell us about how you work with these quests?
Last year we put most of our resources into creating MyStable, which was the most requested update from our community, and we also opened up Jorvik City which had been very requested for quite a while. While most of us right away continued with the tough behind-the-scenes work which has been ongoing during 2017 (which was very important for us to do in order for us to develop new features), we also continued with the hard work behind the Main Story Quests. We always want these quests to be as good as possible and it takes a lot of planning, writing, proof reading, more writing, coding, scripting, and new 3D graphics and animations, all of which goes into building a game and finishing these quests. We always want to explore new ground and try new things as well, and we always learn a lot by creating these Main Story Quests. We know how we want the story itself to go, and it’s all a matter of our technology (which has to be able to run even on older computers), keeping up with our ideas!

That sounds so exciting! What do you got for us after the Main Story Quests?
We’ve got a lot of things in the pipeline, and we’re super excited for them! Our Social Media team is working very hard to give you guys some extra special teasers this year so I don’t want to say too much about the coolest stuff, but we’re still working on some graphic improvements in the game (as well as a few sweet features) and we’ll share all the news with you as soon as we can! We are working very hard to lay the groundwork for upcoming content in and around the game, so you can barely imagine the energy here at HQ!

Thank you so much for taking the time to talk to us!
Thank you!
