Star Stable’s Security Certificate

Last night, a range of websites all over the world had issues where their security certificates stopped working. This means that some of you will have seen a popup box saying that our site wasn’t secure and that you shouldn’t trust it.

The company which issues the security certificates that let your web browser know whether or not a site is totally safe had problems where the certificates didn’t work properly. This meant that for a short while last night, lots of websites (including Google and Twitter!) were telling web browsers that it wasn’t safe to browse.

This was a mistake, and these sites (Star Stable included!) were safe the whole time, even though you got the popup.

If you or your parents are concerned, you can follow this link to the GMO GlobalSign website where you can see an explanation of the problem in full.

Hopefully you didn’t get too worried when you saw the popup!
