Chapter 1: A Snow Saga

The winter festival has arrived once again — but this year, the festival hasn’t come to Jorvik alone: a mad blizzard has taken over the island! Are the islanders prepared for such a storm? Seems like they’re not…only a hero could help them out!

Step into A Snow Saga!

This winter saga of five chapters will unfold over the next five weeks. The the story will conclude during the Wednesday update on January 11th.

For you summer lovers, don’t fret! If you click the snow icon you are able to turn off the snowy weather.

Sleigh bells ring…

Can you hear the distant sound of sleigh bells? Those aren’t just for holiday cheer — sleighs can now be found all over Jorvik. Take any sleigh for a ride and you will find yourself in the Winter Village! But first, you must talk to the tiny yule goat to unlock them. The yule goat won’t be hard to find, it will come to you after you log in!

100% chance of blizzard!

Once you’ve completed your Winter Village intro, the story must go on. Our hero will brave the chill of the sudden blizzards and help those in need!

Our weather forecast predicts that blizzards will hit random spots in Jorvik every day between the hours of 8-10 AM and 5-7 PM. The blizzards won’t be hard to spot. A distinctive snow flurry in the sky will guide you to your hero’s quest. Blizzards are predicted for the next two weeks only, so hurry and locate them!

Keep in mind that blizzard times are based on your server time. There will be 1 quest for every snow crisis period, meaning 2 per day. One quest will be available to all players, and one to Star Riders only. You will be granted Winter Tokens upon completing your quests!

Winter Western Tack

Whether you are preparing for a winter adventure or cozy ride, reach for this beautiful tack inspired by the drama and diversity of the Rocky Mountains.

The bridle is a brand-new model and can be worn by any Gen 3 horse released from the Shire and onward.

Winter Festivities

There’s even more winter merriment to be explored. Every day, 9 unique festivities will appear that reward Winter Tokens! 3 festivities will appear every hour and rotate at the top of the hour, meaning you have several chances to catch each one. Make sure to visit Jorvik at different times throughout the day to enjoy them all! Each festivity will reward you once per day, though you are welcome to try them each time they appear.

How can you find these festivities? Look to the sky! The Aurora Borealis has appeared to guide you (or check out the map if you’re directionally challenged). Some festivities are for you to relax and enjoy, like cozying up for a story in the stables. Others are for you to create your own fun with friends. We also have games for you adventure seekers. One thing is for sure...there is an activity for everyone!

We’ve switched up the locations of festivities from previous years. 2 festivities per hour can be found in the Winter Village, while one remaining will spawn somewhere else in Jorvik. Some festivities might be locked behind Star Rider areas.

Winter Tokens

So what can you do with all these Winter Tokens? Exchange them for prizes, ranging from a brand new outfit to XP for your horse - maybe even a cute companion? Find the helper, Bingle, in the Winter Village to learn more about Winter Tokens and how to exchange them.

P.S. If you have any Warm Wishes left from previous years, you can exchange them for Horse XP, Jorvik Shillings or Fireworks at a vendor in the Winter Village!

Easy Freezy Race

Ever tried racing down the frozen Silversong River while slipping towards a finish line? Even if you have, it's guaranteed fun, we’ve updated the race this year!

To find the race, introduce yourself to Flipper the penguin. Flipper usually hangs around the frozen waterfall at Valedale and will get you started. Then Flapper will be there to greet you at the end! Just watch out for obstacles along your way. You don’t want to trample over Flipper and Flapper’s friends!

Slip and slide down Silversong River!

A new item is available in the Moorland Bonus Shop to all of you who became Star Rider by one-time payment! The Admiral’s Dressage Mane Bow is inspired by the uniform of the last Jorvegian Admiral!
