The Welsh Ponies of Jorvik

For thousands of years Wales has been home to the beloved Welsh Pony. The breed was shaped by the land and the people, developing into a hardy and durable pony that thrived in tough conditions. Some have survived as wild herds, dating back countless generations, others worked alongside farmers while others still were pampered by royalty.

In Jorvik, the wild Welsh Ponies of South Hoof are rumored to have been owned by the Winterwell family, forgotten and left to roam free. This suited them fine, the ponies flourishing on the peninsula. But their adaptability meant many Jorvegians had a Welsh Pony companion. All they need is a friend to travel with who can keep up with their stamina!

★ Where can I get it?
One horse is available in Fort Pinta and the rest live with the Hermit of South Hoof Peninsula.

★ How much does it cost?
800 Star Coins.

★ What level do I have to be?
Anyone will be able to get the pony in Fort Pinta right away! To get the other variations, you must have reached level 7 and reputation level “Friendly” with the Hermit.

★ How many coat variations do they have?
There are six gorgeous coat colors for you to choose from.

★ What mane styles do they have?
In addition to their standard mane style, there are four mane styles available to purchase. You can also purchase three, new extra mane styles!

★ Is there anything else I should know?
The Welsh Pony has a special move! Click the spacebar while the pony is standing still and it will excitedly show you its adorable bounce. Also...

New Bridles and Halters!

The new Show Halter is perfect for keeping your companion by your side on all your Jorvik adventures! This halter is exclusively fitted to the Welsh Pony and Appaloosa for now. The new English Bridle will fit the Welsh Pony and all upcoming horses. And just so the other breeds don’t feel left out, we released a daffodil decoration that will look great on any of your horses! Find them at the Global Store or shop in South Hoof.

All these items have a level 9 requirement.

Why can’t I wear the halter and bridle on more horses?

It takes a lot of time to fit gear to horses we already have in-game and it can often be tricky. For now, we are focusing on having these bridles and halters fit the Welsh pony and upcoming horses. Retrofitting to previous horses is an ongoing process and something we hope to have in the future!

Horse Retirement

Our Akhal-Tekes and Appaloosa Horses from Generation 1.5 that currently can be found at Ferdinand's Horse Market are leaving us for greener pastures. During the Wednesday update on April 6th, they will leave Jorvik and not be available for purchase from then on.While we love each and every one of our old horses, we sometimes need to do some changes to ensure the game can run at the best possible performance. One of these changes will be to slowly phase out our very oldest horses. The Akhal-Teke and the Appaloosa from Generation 1.5 will be the first to get their well-deserved retirement!If you already have purchased any of these horses, no need to worry! The horses will stay unchanged in your safe ownership. Please note that they will not be further supported with bug fixes, updates, or new tack.
